Access Statement For SEEKINGS SELF CATERING
Introduction
Our two Self catering accommodations are on the ground floor They are situated in a small hamlet, surrounded by countryside called Yarley, 8 minutes drive outside the city of WELLS, Somerset. they were converted from a farm outbuilding in 2007 to a high specification with all safety and confort aspects considered. we look forwarding to giving you a warm welcome.
Pre-Arrival
- We have an extensive website, with pictures and floor plan layouts of rooms.
- Bookings and enqueries can be made directly from the website via email or via phone or by letter.
- all guests are provided with written directions if required and are also available on our website. The address andpost code for sat nav or mapquest is seekings,yarley hill, yarley, wells, soemrset BA5 1PA
- The nearest bus stop is at the bottom of the lane(100 metres) , we only have 2 buses a day, one AM and one PM which take you into Wells to the bus station or onto Weston super mare.
- Weston super Mare stationn is 40 minutes away and Castle Carey station is 25 minutes away
- We can arrange for a texi from the stations if required.
- taxi office phone numbers are available in the lets
- The nearest RADAR toilet is in Wells car park and also in the cloisters toilets of the Wells Cathedral
- we welcome any phone call regarding assessablity for visually,hearing or mobility impaired and will try are best to accommodate. the lets are on level ground, how ever there is one step up into the let and a shower cubicle that would have to be stepped into. We also do have access to adiscabled wt room and toilet area on the premises, please discuss if we can fit into your requirements.
- We have a courtyard that allows off street parking and turning for guests cars
- Only one car per unit please( please discuss if need t bring another car and we can arrange parking 100yards away)
- No caravans,mobile homes,vans please.
- Car parking area and walk ways/access to lets is level
- The entrance to each let has a step up of about 12inches
- There are no handrails at the entrance.
- The enterance to the lets is by a paving stone path about 50 yards long and 3 foot wide
- The access door to the lets can be opened up to form large patio door access.
- The arrival to 'Seekings' is at teh side of our housse through an open 5 bar gate, this leads you into a large courtyard at the back of our property, access to lets is then at the back of a barn, in a quiet area of garden surrounded by hedges and stone walls. Our house is not visible from the lets.
- All walk ways are lit at night and on sensors.Torches are also provided in the lets if required on walks to the local pub!
- There will be someone here to greet and welcome you on your arrival.

- Two sets of keys are given per stay.
- We will give you a familiarisation tour of proprty when you have settled and refreshed yourself.
- There is an outside tap and boot cleaner for walkers.
- Bikes are welcome but we can arrange for loan bikes on prior request.
- Owner is available by mobile or a knock on the house door for all questions,request and enqueries- i am here to make your holiday break a memorable one.
- The Front door opens into the open plan living area, the light switch is the right, behind the curtains. there is a large mat inside the door and the flooring is under floor heating with a non slip wood effect flooring(brought from germany and has textured non slip surface)
- On the table is a Welcome Pack, the instructions for all electrical equipment is in the book case in a black file

- There is a washing machine in the studio which is directly infront of car parking courtyard.
- a key is kept in one of the small drawers below the microwave.
- There is no tumble drier available, however if you are stuck please talk to the owner who will help oyu out in their home!
- Airers are in the large kitchen cupboard.
- Washing liquid and conditioner are provided by host.
- There is a disabled ramp to the studio with large door access and level flooring throughout.

- However we do keep a few essentials- coffee,tea, milk, suga, oil, tins tomatoes so please ask if stuck
- We can provide you with beauty and body therapies on your stay.
- The owner has been in the business of Health and well being for 30 years and is qualifed in many massage therapies,having also worked in London for 20 years and now teaches at her own college.
- She is also a Nutritional consultant and an assessment is also vailable on any health issues . please see website for list of treatments or call and request a brochure prior to your stay.
- treatments can be taken in the luxury of your let or we also have a small treatment room on site.
- We have a few items that can be loaned for the duration of your stay- exercise ball, step machine, adducotr exerciser,handweight, skipping rope,abdomenal exerciser.
- We also have an agreement with a private personnal trainiing gym which is 6 minutes away by car for guests to visit, however they wil need to fill in forms on first visit. they take maximum of 4 people only at any one time- please request more information from emailing or calling us if interested.
- There are outdoor lights outside each let and on walk ways and in courtyard.Each let has a patio table, four chairs and parasol.
- There is also a gas barbeque.
- There is comunual use of the garden which is screened by high trees, hedges and stone wall and is laid to grass.
- We encourage recycling of plastic,paper,card,tins,bottles, waste food and drinks cartons. all recycling bins are found in the rubbish area which is just off the courtyard behind a wooden cupboard area. This will be pointed out to you on your welcome tour.
- Plastic buckets with lids are available for food waste.
- We have a studiio that is availabel for separate hire. Facilities: Smart board, laptop, wifi,refreshments. Seating for up to 12 people.
- Door width is standard door size.
- 5 ft double bed provided
- Non feather duvets(hyper allergenic) are provided
- Non feather and feather pillows are provided(please state if you require the non feather hypoallergenic prior to stay and we will change over, however these are in the drawers of the divan bed)
- Sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases and bottom sheets are all white Egyptian cotton.
- The shower room is ensuite.
- The central light is a chandeliar and is on a dimmer switch, this can be turned off from the side of the bed.
- There is underfloor heating, see enterance description, slip free and easy for allergy suffers.
- There are two non slip rugs by the side of the bed.
- There are also two bedside light
- There is a powerful hairdryer in each let
- This is accssable from the bedroom.
- The shower has a step up of about 10 inches
- The shower is a mira, with adjustable heating and thermostatic control

- The flooriing is under floor heating and non slip tiling.
- There is a glass shelve over the sink
- There is a shaving socket to the left of the sink.
- There are two glass shelves over the toilet
- There is a towel roll rail and also a rail .
- There is a wall fixed soap dish and toothbrush holder.
- There are 2 hooks for hanging dressing gowns and wash bags
- We provide a white cotton dressing gown per guest.
- We provide a toweling shower mat per let
- We provide 1 bath towel, one hand towel and one flannel per guest. These are changed once her weekly stay. however if you require clean towels please do not hesitate to request them.
- The kitchen and living area is open plan, high aspect area.
- Large patio doors lead off into the garden, letting lots of light in.

- The kitchen is well equipped and L shaped.
- there is a 4 seater table with 4 chairs
- there is a 3 seater leather sofa bed inlounge area
- There is a TV,DVD,Video player
- There is a HIFI with radio,cd and MP3 connection point.
- Good stock of books and upto date video and DVD's
- Lots of local information and books available.
- Jigsaws, games and rainy day things.
- The hob is electric(4 rings)
- The cooker is electric with safety lock on oven.
- There is a fridge with ice box

- We provide all dishwasher tablets and cleaning products
- We clean let once on a wednesday- AM or arranged in every weekly let if required.
- All dishclothes are new.
- All drying towels are provided.
- We pride ourselves in how well equipped the lets are.
- The flooring is underfloor and non slip
- The main lighting is on a dimmer switch
- There is a side light by the sofa and under cupboard lighting in kitchen area

- There is a private patio area for each let with wooden table, 4 chairs and a parasol.
- A gas barbeque is available, we do not encourage the use of portable barbeques.
- The garden is quiet and secluded and surrounded by high hedges, trees and stone walls.
- The grassed garden are is communal with just the other let, it is not used by the owners of 'seekings'.
- There is also a large, high metal gate that can be closed off, making the area safe for young children. This then keep them away from the courtyard and access to the lane.
- Each let has a fire extinguisher found on the wall in the kitchen area.
- There is a smoke alarm in the open plan living area.
- Please call the owners if any problems.
- there is a list of emergency numbers on the back of the large cupboard door in kitchen area.
- There is wireless connection available in lets, access number on back of door in large kitchen cupboard.
- All areas of the let are strictly non smoking, there is a sand pot for cigerette buts in the left hand corner of the garden. Please be courteous in not smoking anywhere but in the grass area of the garden.
- Please be courteous in playing music, watching TV in the lets, we pride ourselves in teh quietness and calmness of the surroundings you stay in and for fellow guests in the other let. However both lets are extremely sound proofed.
- We run cookery workshops regarding ailments at regular intervals throoughout the year- please contact for more information.
- We run fun massage courses over weekends throughout the year please contact for more information of dates.
- We have a no pets and no smokingpolicy
- We have a travel cot, high chair and safety socket and table pack available on request.
- Please inform us of the ages of children staying as we can then put some items in to make their stay more fun.
- We also have for loan a beach pack- wind break, buckets and spades and beach towels if you have forgotten them.
- We also have a picnic rucksack with cool area if you have forgotten this.
- Access to shower stool and electronic bed riser if required for less able.
